Safety & Reliability.

Are these spring break destinations safe??
All international destinations are stalwart tourist areas. These areas are well protected due to the importance of tourism to the home country. Many destinations step up security during spring break knowing that there are younger travelers. All day trip excursions are provided by reliable tour operators and go to popular tourist spots.

Are the flights reliable?
Yes, Spring Break Direct uses only scheduled commercial air service and DOES NOT use any charter air service. These are the airline carriers you are familiar with... American Airlines, Continental, Delta, US Air, United, etc. Your son or daughter can select their own flight in the booking process.

Are there chaperones?
Sort of. Spring Break Direct provides on-site resort representatives (reps). The reps are there to see that your son and/or daughter’s trip goes smoothly. They attend most functions and are visible and available throughout the week. Your son/daughter is an adult and our reps treat them so. Our motto is, “If you trust them to go on spring break, then we trust them too.”

Can I make payments securely on the web site?
Yes. Make sure to get your son/daughter’s login information if you want to pay on their account. We cannot give this information out over the phone.

a. How do I contact my son/daughter at their hotel?
Make sure to get this important information from them before they depart. If you have their login information, it will be posted in their online account center.

b. How do I view their flight information/times?
Login to their online account center to view flight information. You must call the airline directly to confirm flight times.

Parties and Drinking.

What is the drinking age at these destinations?
For U.S. destinations, it is 21 years old and strictly enforced. Some domestic clubs will allow under-21 into the club, but they cannot drink. For international destinations, the drinking age is 18 years old - enforcement varies by establishment, but is typically not as strict as in the US. Spring Break Direct encourages responsible and safe behavior while vacationing.

What are these parties like?
Fun! Many parties have themes and are complete with contests, giveaways, and celebrity MC’s. Our staff is in attendance at all featured events.

How much money should they take?
There is no set amount. Traveler spending habits vary widely, but for international trips we recommend $300-$400 and a credit card for back up. Travelers checks are accepted same as cash.

Are credit cards widely accepted?
Mostly yes. Cash is needed for smaller restaurants and onsite purchase of meal plans, VIP party packages, and side trips (Tip: Add this to their trip before they depart – it is often cheaper and they can use a credit card). There are also ATM’s at all destinations. The onsite reps will explain this at the traveler orientation upon arrival.
